Goal Practice
Shooting at a goal is different from shooting at a wall — there’s a cage to aim at, corners to hit, and (eventually) a goalie to beat.
Setting Up Goal Targets
If you have a goal (or a net):
- Corner targets: Hang towels or shirts in each corner of the goal. Hit the target.
- Cones: Place cones just inside each bottom corner. Try to hit them.
- Bucket challenge: Put a bucket in one corner. Hit it from 10, 15, and 20 yards.
If you DON’T have a goal:
- Mark a 6x6 square on a wall with tape or chalk. Mark the corners.
- Shoot at the corners. Same training, no goal needed.
Goal Practice Routine (15 Minutes)
1) Stationary Shooting (5 Minutes)
- Stand 10 yards out, centered
- 5 shots low-left, 5 shots low-right
- 5 shots high-left, 5 shots high-right
- Count your hits out of 20
2) Shooting on the Move (5 Minutes)
- Start at the top of the box, run toward the cage at an angle
- Shoot low-corner while moving
- 5 from the right side, 5 from the left
- Cue: “Don’t slow down to shoot — shoot while running”
3) Quick-Stick Shots (5 Minutes)
- Have a partner feed you the ball (or bounce it off a wall)
- Catch and shoot in one motion — no extra cradling
- 10 reps from different angles
- This is the most game-like shooting drill you can do
Tracking Accuracy

| 3 | 15 yards | 20 | ___ | ___% |
| 4 | 15 yards | 20 | ___ | ___% |
Track your accuracy on the tracker page. Going from 6/20 to 10/20 at 15 yards is massive improvement. Measure it.
